St. Joseph’s Church in Maplewood, NJ is hosting the final concert in the 2018 Canticles for Life AIDS Benefit Concerts serieto raise much-needed funds that will impact many lives of those affected by HIV/AIDS.  This music ministry directly benefits three New Jersey organizations that support those impacted by HIV/AIDS and in memory of those lost to the disease: New Jersey AIDS Services based in Morristown, the NAMES Project of Northern NJ, which supports the AIDS Memorial Quilt; and the AIDS Resource Foundation for Children in Newark.

Canticles Chairperson Ginny Johnston, of Maplewood, will be conducting the 28-voice Triad Vocal Ensemblewhich will feature a mix of styles including traditional anthems, pop arrangements, and an inspiring new work, “More Love” by New Jersey composer Mark Miller.

Also featured is the cabaret quartet, Off-Off-Off-Off Broadway.  This New Jersey based quartet will share a set of Broadway and off-Broadway songs with a mix of humor, poignancy and of course, some razzle-dazzle.

The Dan Crisci Jazz Trio will offer several instrumental songs, including original selections from Dan’s new recording.  Additionally, panels from the AIDS Memorial Quilt will be on display and a reception will follow the performance. There will also be a time of reflection and sharing by representatives from the charities.

Tickets are no longer required to attend.  Free will offerings will be accepted at each concert. There are two ways to support the concert series ahead of the performances.  Program Sponsorship is available for $50 and includes a 20-word message in the Canticles program.  Additionally, tax-deductible contributions of any amount are welcome.
