Triad Arts Ensemble, in collaboration with the Wharton Institute for the Performing Arts, raised $9,045  from their 2021 Canticles for Life AIDS Benefit Concert, presented in October 2021 in Berkeley Heights. The AIDS Resource Foundation for Children, the AIDS Memorial Quilt – NJ Chapter, and EDGE New Jersey were the beneficiaries of the concerts.  2021 marked the 23rd year of the Canticles music ministry, which celebrates the courage and dignity of the human spirit, while also offering remembrances for lives lost. This season the program included jazz music by the Dan Crisci Trio and a variety of choral works performed by the Triad Vocal Ensemble.

Triad Arts Ensemble, in collaboration with three area churches, raised $12,360 from their 2019 Canticles for Life AIDS Benefit Concerts, presented in April 2019 in Maplewood, Parsippany, and Bridgewater. The AIDS Resource Foundation for Children, the NAMES Project of Northern NJ, and New Jersey AIDS Services were the beneficiaries of the concerts.  2019 marked the 22^ndyear of the Canticles music ministry, which celebrates the courage and dignity of the human spirit, while also offering remembrances for lives lost. This season the program included jazz music by the Dan Crisci Trio, a set by the Celtic trio Rascals & Rogues, and a variety of choral works performed by the Triad Vocal Ensemble.

Triad Arts Ensemble, in collaboration with three area churches, raised $13,500 from their 2018 Canticles for Life AIDS Benefit Concerts, presented in April 2018 in Bridgewater, Butler, and Maplewood. New Jersey AIDS Services, the AIDS Resource Foundation for Children and the NAMES Project of Northern NJ benefited from the concerts. 2018 marked the 21^styear of the Canticles music ministry, which celebrates the courage and dignity of the human spirit, while also offering remembrances for lives lost. The program included jazz music by the Dan Crisci Trio, a set by the cabaret quartet Off-Off-Off-Off Broadway, and a variety of choral works performed by the Triad Vocal Ensemble. Thanks to all the contributors, performers and audience members who so generously supported this music ministry and helped make it one of the most successful years in the Canticles concert history!

$11,100 was raised from the three 2017 Canticles performances and associated contributions for the following organizations that care for persons living with HIV/AIDS and in remembrance of lives lost: The AIDS Resource Foundation for Children, the NAMES Project of Northern NJ, and New Jersey AIDS Services.

As we marked the 20th anniversary of the concerts, we were thrilled to welcome back past Canticles performers Margo Hennebach and Mark Saunders of the international trio, Mad Agnes.  They shared original folk and Celtic songs and included the audience in some vocal improv.  Also featured were the Dan Crisci Jazz Trio and the Triad Vocal Ensemble.

The spirit-filled music, the power of the memorial Quilt panels on display, the moments of sharing from representatives from the charities, and the times of reflection contributed to an incredible sense of community.  Special thanks to our hosting congregations: St. Martin’s Episcopal Church in Bridgewater, the Parsippany United Methodist Church and St. Joseph’s Church in Maplewood!
